Kayak I Basic Skills
|
|
Our basic skills class to is designed to give you the skills to feel comfortable maneuvering calm lakes and rivers. In addition to forward, reverse and maneuvering strokes we will cover paddling safety, PDF fit, getting in and out of the kayak and basic rescure skills - all you need to get started as a kayaker. Our goal is to have you feel confident and relaxed. This will be a small group of 5 to 8 people per instructor. Three hour session. Fee: member $69.00, non-member $79.00 **

Kayak II - Intermediate Skills
This is a more comprehensive course to enhance your handling and stroke techniques. Refine the basic stroke, forward, backward, reverse and turning skills. Boat tilt, body movement and basic rescue techniques will be covered, along with potential handling hazards. A class focusing on refining your skills to become a more efficient paddler. Four hour session. Fee: member $79.00, non-member $89.00 **

| Rescue Class
|
|
This class will focus on self and assisted rescues. Your instructor will demonstrate and teach safe exit and re-entry techniques such as T rescues, bow rescues and paddle float rescues. These are techniques that every paddler should know to get themselaves back in their boat and to assist others. This class is intended for people who already have basic paddling and maneuvering skills and now want to learn rescue techniques. This course will take place on a protected and calm water body to enhance your learning experience. Three hour session, Fee $79.00 member, 89.00 non-member **
